Shipping Trainee

We are seeking our next Shipping Trainee for the 2025 Program.

A traineeship at Ultranav is a 14-month intensive program that combines both theoretical and practical training. As a trainee, you will follow a structured learning path delivered in-house by our team — with a special emphasis on Tanker Operations — along with external training through specialized shipping programs.

The theoretical training combines in-house sessions with e-learning. You will gain knowledge in:

• Shipping Fundamentals
• Fleet Vessels
• Voyage Economics
• Technical Principles in Operations
• Bunker Procurement
• Cargo Handling
• Legal Principles of Shipping
• Commercial Shipping Relations
• Energy & Fuel

The practical training takes place at the Ultranav office, where you will gain hands-on experience in key shipping areas such as operations and operational control. As part of your learning journey, you will rotate through various departments, each with a dedicated tutor to support your integration and development.

You will also spend time abroad at one of our international offices, gaining valuable commercial insight and a global perspective on the maritime industry.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR?

A technical or university degree in Foreign Trade, Logistics or a related field
Recent graduates or candidates with up to 1 year of relevant experience
Advanced English proficiency (mandatory), both written and spoken
Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to contribute to a positive team atmosphere
A proactive, open-minded attitude and strong team spirit
